Last July 17, 2019, the Priests of the Sacred Heart, together with the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish community, celebrated their 30th Anniversary here in the Philippines with the theme “Sharing Dehonian charism, serving the Gospel and the community. The occasion started with a Holy Mass at 6:30 in the evening, presided by our dear Bishop Emeritus, the Most Reverend Antonio Tobias, DD and con-celebrated by at least 30 Dehonian priests headed by the Local Superior Rev. Fr. Lucas and our Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Niño B. Etulle, SCJ with Assistant Parish Priests Rev. Fr. Donald “Don-don” Longno, SCJ and Rev. Fr. Nekkanti Bala “Showe”Showereddy, SCJ.
The mass was followed immediately with a simple dinner shared by more than 200 guests. While guests enjoyed their dinner, a 27-minute video presentation about the Dehonians or SCJ played in the background for everyone to see and hear how they began here in the Philippines and what they do. Right after the video presentation, representatives from the Mother Butler Guild and Lectors and Commentators Ministry gave a dance number for entertainment, followed by the Parish Youth Ministry who serenaded the night away.
